Three years ago this little girl came into our lives and helped heal our broken hearts. When we first met her, she was so tiny, scared and yet she was willing to give us a chance to love her. Over the months, she begin to trust us and she blossomed! Our love for this little girl is endless and grows more each day. While she has been ours just three short years, I can't imagine life without her. She walks into a room on a ray of sunshine and brightens the lives of everyone she meets. Hannah Derartu, you are a gift from heaven and we are so blessed that God chose us to be your parents. I pray that your first Mom, wherever she is tonight somehow knows in her heart that her little girl is safe, loved beyond measure and treasured. You are an amazing little girl and I admire your ability to find joy in everything and your courage to try all that life has to offer.
I love watching you grow from the tiny little girl we first met three years ago to the big girl you are today and I can't wait to see the woman you become!
